About the client

The Meet Market is a highly anticipated and popular gathering that celebrates local creativity, entrepreneurship, and community. Held regularly in various locations throughout the city of Athens, the Meet Market brings together a diverse array of independent designers, artists, artisans and small businesses.

During the event, visitors have the opportunity to explore a wide range of unique and high-quality products, including handmade crafts, fashion items, jewelry, artwork, vintage treasures, food products, and much more.

Nearly 16 years and 130 events after the first event, Meet Market has evolved into one of the largest creative festivals in Greece, with a family of over 400 rotating designers and producers, thousands of visitors and an expanding infrastructure dedicated to celebrating and supporting the entrepreneurial spirit.

As the Meet Market continued to grow and evolve, it seemed only natural to also create an online platform. Just like a live Meet Market, each maker can open up their own individual store front and sell direct to their audience

Noetik created a revolutionary platform that brings the vibrant spirit of The Meet Market to the digital world. With our expertise in creating exceptional online experiences, we crafted a dynamic marketplace that connects artisans, designers, and shoppers in an immersive virtual environment.

The platform showcases not only the Meet Market's physical events but also an extensive range of products from local makers and lets users discover unique crafts, fashion-forward pieces, exquisite artwork, food, toys, jewelry, and much more. Our user-friendly design and intuitive navigation ensure a seamless shopping experience, allowing users to browse through a great variety of products, visit makers' profile pages, and connect with them.

About the project

The making of TMM

In order to meet the goals of the project Noetik's designers and developers built everything from scratch. Ok ... almost everything. We used the Umbraco CMS as a foundation and then we built a tone of new features on top of it. We also made use of some key design elements that were present in initial draft designs supplied by the customer.

We designed hundreds of different page layouts and dialogues - especially for the Maker and Client back-ends - to ensure that the user experience will be flawless. To add a creative flair and vibrance to the marketplace we also created numerous colorful illustrations, banners, and unique icons that enhance the visual experience and make navigation through the website more pleasant.

We created a custom back-end from where the Makers can configure their shop, manage their products, create promotional sales and track their orders. We also gave Makers the capability to create their own virtual storefront.

Buyers also have their back-end from where they can track, manage and review their orders and also manage payment methods, addresses and privacy settings.

Additionally we crafted many custom workflows and tools. Just to name few:

Maker on-boarding
"Know Your Customer" (KYC) procedures
Gift card purchases
Order receipt - fulfillment and reviewing
In-app messaging between Makers and Buyers
Maker repayments and invoicing

Finally, we extended the Umbraco back-end and created many custom sections from where the Meet Market administrators are able to manage makers and products, moderate reviews and messages and produce useful reports for marketing and accounting.
